Firstly a success - My Embossed Leaves Socks are finished and look nice! I love the pattern - the designer really has thought through the details. I'll definitely be knitting these socks again. I found I made more mistakes on the second sock than the first sock - maybe it was because I had the dreaded summer flu. These socks took me about a week to make (knitting on and off). They took 1.5 balls of 50g sock yarn on 3mm needles. The only modification to the pattern I made was to shorten the socks by one pattern repeat (16 rounds) as I have size 5 feet.

Now the disaster. Naturally it's the pattern I'm designing. It was going OK, but I decided it was too big. I based the design on a pattern I'd made up for another fitted sleeve jumper, but stupidly I'd written down that pattern incorrectly. With a lot of despair I decided to pull out what I'd done and re-knit. I'd even done the neckband! Luckily I decided to do the sleeves and that's when I realised it was a no-go. Poor me! This project is cursed! Really, this is the worst I've had. Anyhow see the depressing before and after pics.
