On Saturday night I went out to see the Screaming Tea Party again, at what is most probably the worst music venue in London. I hadn't been before and will not be going there again... It's called Bloomsbury Bowling and is basically a bowling alley with a stage attached. Most of the clientele appear to be at hen or stag do's and the music is interrupted by the sound of the bowling balls. Maybe I was just a bit too old (well, 20 years too old) for the place, but I think I would have hated it when I was 18! However The Screaming Tea Party were good as usual and loud enough to overcome the venue. I got back to Balham exactly by midnight so was lucky not to miss the last tube!
Now, knitting. My reformed Ziggy creation is now going somewhere. Transformed into a fitted sleeve jumper it finally is looking wearable! I'm still above the bust line though - so maybe not wearable yet! The issues I have now are:
1. It's another slipped stich pattern because I love the look - BUT it's incredibly slow to knit. there about 4 rounds per cm!
2. It may be too big - I think it should be a bit tighter but I am very resistant to pulling it out because it's so slow to knit!
So I'm having a break and knitting the Embossed Leaves Socks which are going very well. I'm nearly at the toe of my first sock and I am really impressed by the pattern. Aren't socks great. What I like is the ingenuity of all the different ways to turn the heel and shape the toes. It's fascinating.
