Boo - Course Cancelled - but cotton hooray!!!

I booked a knitting course at Loop called 'Finishing techniques' - it was supposed to be last Saturday but unfortunately was cancelled. On Tuesday I took a trip to Loop and used the money I'd pre-paid for the course (and a bit more!) to buy some beautiful organic cotton in Sky & Pumpkin:
Blue Sky Cotton
100% Organic CottonWeight and yardage: Approx. 100 grams / 150 yards or 137 metres Needles: 4.5 - 5.5mm / #7 - 9 (US)
Tension: 16-20 sts = 10cm using 5.5mm needles

No doubt the tension will be way off for me because I'm a loose knitter (I mean the stiches!). Anyhow I'm now delighted that the course was cancelled because I'd rather have the cotton AND I no longer do any finishing - I knit everything from the top down!

Anyhow I plan to design & knit a yoke necked cardigan. In my Barbara Walker book she says unlike a raglan you simply do all the increases on one round then knit straight for a few rounds... Sounds easy!

I've found some useful links on the internet (thanks to the people listed!):
Montcalm Knits - blog
Knits and Pieces
The two above show a really nice yoked pattern and you can clearly see the stepped construction.

The next step is to knit design the pattern...
