More Quilting

One book I bought last year was Last Minute Quilted Gifts. I enjoyed Last Minute Knitted Gifts and hoped for more of the same. I thought the book was OK but nothing really leaped out at me as a 'must make'. I did make one project from the book which used up some of my quilt disaster fabric:

coasters

I'm very fond of these little coasters.

I finally made a decision on yesterdays patchwork. I went for a combination of #1 and #2 in the end after much rearranging and deliberating. I'm going to call this quilt the 'Sunrise Quilt' because the colours look like the sun rising over the sea. The brightness of the fabrics is a tonic in these grey winter days.

Sunrise

The next step is to make a border then bind and quilt (or is it quilt and bind)...

Hi! Thanks for hanging out with me in my little space. Nice to meet you!

I've quickly browsed through your most recent posts. Love, love the coasters. We seem to have some similar tastes in fabric. Got tickled at the end-of-the-year graphs. Nice to know I'm not the only one who tracks such things to print and ponder. I don't know. I wouldn't say the quilt was a total disaster, not really. But the latest patchwork is delicious! That's the beauty of sewing...understanding that what we perceive as mistakes are but creative imperfections called art.

I'll be visiting again!

Happy 2009!

Thanks! But the disaster quilt looked a lot worse in real life!
