The holiday was fabulous and despite my best intentions not to knit for X's sake, I did knit a Chevron Scarf. He actually prefers it when I knit 'cause I'm less impatient- phew!We went to Seattle and took a couple of weeks to drive down to San Francoico. I love that whole area, especially Oregan, because the countryside is spectacular and the people are just so friendly. I also loved the exchange rate and made full use of it!
I went to 3 yarn stores: So Much Yarn (Seattle), Knit Purl (Portland) and Websters (Ashland) and thought that they were all fabulous. Knit Purl sold a huge array of fabulous Koigu and Websters had fantastic variety. I'm very pleased with my Chevron Scarf, the pattern was perfect as not much concentration is needed, so is very easy to put down then
pick up after a couple of days. I used Claudia Hand Painted Yarns and I was inpired in my colour choice by some of the examples on Ravelry. Thanks for the nice comments on Ziggy. Jocelyn (I wanted to email you but cannot find your email address) - I intended originally to produce a pattern for Ziggy. It would have been the first pattern I'd attempted to write, but now I have decided that it would be too difficult. I've had to change so much on the fly that a pattern would be unworkable and I would hate to get it wrong and waste peoples time and money. However if anyone is intested in knitting something similar I could provide a lot of help.
