Lost Shoe

I had an embarrassing moment yesterday. I was rushing to jump on the tube and someone stepped on the back of my trainer, which came off my foot. So I was in the tube and my shoe was outside the tube, just as the doors were beginning to shut! I managed to grab the doors and keep them open enough for the train not to leave the station. I was shouting to a girl on the platform ‘GIVE ME MY SHOE!’ – being shoeless did not bring out my polite side! She didn’t seem to want to pick it up – but really, my trainers are not that bad! Another girl helped me keep the door a fraction open – she was the one who stepped on me in the first place. Eventually the doors opened and the girl on the platform finally picked up my shoe and it handed to me. I slunk into a seat and put it back on, but what would you do if you were in the middle of the city with only one shoe? Take the other one off I suppose.
